Backed by a compassionate and highly skilled team our charity ethos is to work with integrity, kindness and dedication in our endeavours to protect wild animals.

Tusk

Twenty years ago Africa was in the midst of a poaching crisis. Black rhino were on the brink of extinction (just 2,000 remained) and the African elephant population was being slaughtered at a rate of 100,000 each year, just for their ivory. Drastic times required urgent action. Tusk was established in response to an urgent need to halt the decline in Africa’s natural heritage and find a way to combine the interests of
people and wildlife alike. Tusk promotes the conservation of all African wildlife and particularly the protection of endangered species. Tusks holistic approach to conservation also recognises that the long-term future for wildlife is dependent on sustainable human development. At the end of 2005 Prince William announced his Royal Patronage to the charity.

Helping Rhinos

Helping Rhinos is a UK based charitable organisation dedicated to preventing the rhinoceros from becoming extinct. They aim to achieve this by focusing on two key areas, best summarised by our mission statement:

‘Creating awareness of the issues threatening the global rhino population and raising funds to help protect them for future generations’

Since 2008 the number of rhinos killed by poachers has increased by around 50% year on year. If this trend continues an animal which has walked on this planet for 50 million years will become extinct within the next 15 years. Helping Rhinos is committed to working in partnership with key strategic field projects that will make a difference in the fight against the poachers and ensuring all species of rhino can be enjoyed in their natural habitat by our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Born Free

The Born Free Foundation is a dynamic international wildlife charity, devoted to compassionate conservation and animal welfare. Born Free takes action worldwide to protect threatened species and stop individual animal suffering. Born Free believes wildlife belongs in the wild and works to phase out zoos. We rescue animals from lives of misery in tiny cages and give them lifetime care. Born Free protects lions, elephants, tigers, gorillas, wolves, polar bears, dolphins, marine turtles and many more species in their natural habitat, working with local communities to help people and wildlife live together without conflict. Our high-profile campaigns change public attitudes, persuade decision-makers and get results. Every year, Born Free helps hundreds of thousands of animals worldwide. Working together with the Born Free Foundation, Worldwide Experience volunteers have the opportunity to contribute to conservation by providing first-hand assistance to maintain the sanctuary. Every little helps and you can expect to get involved with anything from eradication of alien plant forms, to assisting the veterinary surgeon.
